The work Portrait by Carlo Maria Mariani was sold in the Modern art and design auction at Bruun Rasmussen in August this year. The »bidding war« ended at DKK 5,500.00 (€ 737.80), 38% above the estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carlo Maria Mariani achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Orfeo in May 2008 with an auction result of EUR 66,250.00.

Die Arbeit Portrait von Carlo Maria Mariani wurde im August diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern art and design bei Bruun Rasmussen versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von DKK 5.500,00 (€ 737,80) und damit 38% über dem Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carlo Maria Mariani erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Orfeo im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 66.250,00.
