Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Cady Noland could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction, the work Sideways Grab changed hands for USD 156,250.00 (€ 133,890.32) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cady Noland achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bluewald in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 9,797,000.00 (€ 8,911,224.30).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Cady Noland konnte im Mai 2018 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction wechselte die Arbeit Sideways Grab für USD 156.250,00 (€ 133.890,32) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 250.000,00 – 350.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cady Noland erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bluewald im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 9.797.000,00 (€ 8.911.224,30).
