Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2018 Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work Tower of Terror by Cady Noland. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,207,501.00 (€ 1,891,603.26) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Cady Noland have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bluewald in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 9,797,000.00 (€ 8,911,224.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2018 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tower of Terror von Cady Noland zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000.000,00 – 3.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.207.501,00 (€ 1.891.603,26) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cady Noland auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bluewald im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 9.797.000,00 (€ 8.911.224,30).
