Auction result well in line with expectations
In April this year Phillips in New York held the auction Editions & Works on Paper, which included the work Gas Conglomerate by Benjamin Edwards. It changed hands for a price of USD 953.00 (€ 863.22) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 500.00 – 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Benjamin Edwards achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Softstream Meadows in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 25,000.00 (€ 16,066.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Editions & Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gas Conglomerate von Benjamin Edwards zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 953,00 (€ 863,22) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 500,00 – 1.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Benjamin Edwards erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Softstream Meadows im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 16.066,84).
