The work Construction of the Emporium by Benjamin Edwards was sold in the Saturday@Phillips auction at Phillips in London in March 2009. It achieved a price of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 4,717.78), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 46%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Benjamin Edwards - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Softstream Meadows, which sold at auction in May 2008 for USD 25,000.00 (€ 16,066.84).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 46 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Construction of the Emporium von Benjamin Edwards wurde im März 2009 in der Auktion Saturday@Phillips bei Phillips in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 4.717,78) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 46%. Für andere Arbeiten von Benjamin Edwards mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Softstream Meadows beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für USD 25.000,00 (€ 16.066,84) versteigert wurde.
