Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Barkley L. Hendricks achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May 2017. In the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction, the work Innocence & Friend sold for USD 396,500.00 (€ 352,883.59) - well above the upper estimate of USD 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Barkley L. Hendricks achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Stanley in May this year with an auction result of USD 6,100,000.00 (€ 5,725,549.09).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Barkley L. Hendricks erzielte im Mai 2017 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction wurde die Arbeit Innocence & Friend für USD 396.500,00 (€ 352.883,59) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 150.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Barkley L. Hendricks erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Stanley im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.100.000,00 (€ 5.725.549,09).
