Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Caput Motum - 7 by Baiju Parthan was sold in the Contemporary Art Part II auction at Phillips in New York in May 2008. The price achieved of USD 46,600.00 (€ 29,948.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Baiju Parthan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Archeology - Arrival at Lancashire, which sold at auction in March 2008 for USD 169,000.00 (€ 106,928.19).

Die Arbeit Caput Motum - 7 von Baiju Parthan wurde im Mai 2008 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Part II bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 46.600,00 (€ 29.948,59) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Baiju Parthan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Archeology - Arrival at Lancashire beobachtet, die im März 2008 für USD 169.000,00 (€ 106.928,19) versteigert wurde.
