Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Metronome by Baiju Parthan was sold in the An Auction to Benefit the Kolkata Museum of Modern Art auction at Sothebys in New York in July 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 13,200.00 (€ 9,627.31) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Baiju Parthan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Archeology - Arrival at Lancashire in March 2008 with an auction result of USD 169,000.00 (€ 106,928.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Metronome von Baiju Parthan wurde im Juli 2007 in der Auktion An Auction to Benefit the Kolkata Museum of Modern Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 13.200,00 (€ 9.627,31) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Baiju Parthan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Archeology - Arrival at Lancashire im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 169.000,00 (€ 106.928,19).
