Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Baiju Parthan was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in December 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 250,000.00 (€ 23,169.77). Admittedly, works by Baiju Parthan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Archeology - Arrival at Lancashire in March 2008 with an auction result of USD 169,000.00 (€ 106,928.19).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Baiju Parthan im Dezember 2008 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 400.000,00 – 600.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 250.000,00 (€ 23.169,77) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Baiju Parthan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Archeology - Arrival at Lancashire im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 169.000,00 (€ 106.928,19).
