Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2008 Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art, which included the work Last Supper Qua Still Life - 3 by Baiju Parthan. The price achieved of USD 67,300.00 (€ 47,794.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Baiju Parthan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Archeology - Arrival at Lancashire, which sold at auction in March 2008 for USD 169,000.00 (€ 106,928.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Last Supper Qua Still Life - 3 von Baiju Parthan zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 67.300,00 (€ 47.794,90) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Baiju Parthan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Archeology - Arrival at Lancashire beobachtet, die im März 2008 für USD 169.000,00 (€ 106.928,19) versteigert wurde.
