Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Azaleas by Alma Thomas was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2019. It achieved a price of USD 740,000.00 (€ 663,736.66), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 23%. Admittedly, works by Alma Thomas have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Fantastic Sunset in May this year with an auction result of USD 3,922,000.00 (€ 3,681,246.48).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Azaleas von Alma Thomas kam im Mai 2019 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 740.000,00 (€ 663.736,66) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 23%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alma Thomas auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Fantastic Sunset im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.922.000,00 (€ 3.681.246,48).
