This artwork by Alma Thomas achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March last year. In the Contemporary Curated auction, the work without title sold for USD 176,400.00 (€ 159,019.20) - well above the upper estimate of USD 100,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alma Thomas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Fantastic Sunset in May this year with an auction result of USD 3,922,000.00 (€ 3,681,246.48).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 76 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Alma Thomas erzielte im März letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Curated wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 176.400,00 (€ 159.019,20) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 100.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alma Thomas erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Fantastic Sunset im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.922.000,00 (€ 3.681.246,48).
