The work Flash of Spring by Alma Thomas was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2020. It achieved a price of USD 819,000.00 (€ 742,587.72), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 26%. Admittedly, works by Alma Thomas have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Fantastic Sunset in May this year with an auction result of USD 3,922,000.00 (€ 3,681,246.48).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Flash of Spring von Alma Thomas kam im März 2020 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 819.000,00 (€ 742.587,72) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 26%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alma Thomas auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Fantastic Sunset im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.922.000,00 (€ 3.681.246,48).
