Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Alma Thomas achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in November 2021. In the Contemporary Day Auction auction, the work Snoopy Gets a Glance at Mars sold for USD 2,319,000.00 (€ 2,054,576.06) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,000,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Alma Thomas; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A Fantastic Sunset sold at auction in May this year with the realized price of USD 3,922,000.00 (€ 3,681,246.48).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Alma Thomas erzielte im November 2021 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Day Auction wurde die Arbeit Snoopy Gets a Glance at Mars für USD 2.319.000,00 (€ 2.054.576,06) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.000.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Alma Thomas; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit A Fantastic Sunset im Mai diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 3.922.000,00 (€ 3.681.246,48).
