Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Taj Mahal by Akim Monet was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,063.00 (€ 1,486.87). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Akim Monet - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cave Cathedral, which sold at auction in November 2006 for USD 6,600.00 (€ 4,977.00).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Taj Mahal von Akim Monet im Oktober 2015 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.063,00 (€ 1.486,87) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Akim Monet mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cave Cathedral beobachtet, die im November 2006 für USD 6.600,00 (€ 4.977,00) versteigert wurde.
