Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Akim Monet could be acquired at Phillips in London in January 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Evening & Day Editions auction, the work Domus Adriani (Hadrian's Alexandrian Gardens) changed hands for GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,569.94) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Akim Monet - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cave Cathedral, which sold at auction in November 2006 for USD 6,600.00 (€ 4,977.00).
