Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%

This artwork by Steven Sorman achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in April last year. In the Editions & Works on Paper auction, the work Trees Blowing and Blowing like Arms Akimbo (T. 533) sold for USD 1,638.00 (€ 1,554.52) - well above the upper estimate of USD 600.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Steven Sorman; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot "Change of heart" sold at auction in May 2010 with the realized price of SEK 15,000.00 (€ 1,555.91).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Steven Sorman erzielte im April letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper wurde die Arbeit Trees Blowing and Blowing like Arms Akimbo (T. 533) für USD 1.638,00 (€ 1.554,52) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 600,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Steven Sorman; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit "Change of heart" im Mai 2010 mit dem Hammerpreis von SEK 15.000,00 (€ 1.555,91).
