The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,190.00 (€ 8,244.41), 64% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Spencer Finch have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work New York Boogie Woogie (Times Square, April 27, 2003, 10:07 Pm) in October 2018 with an auction result of USD 68,750.00 (€ 60,668.90).

Die Arbeit The River That Flows Both Ways (Hudson River, June 12, 2008; 9:20 am, 11:29 am, 12:10 pm, 3:54 pm, 7:08 pm) von Spencer Finch wurde im Oktober letzten Jahres in der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.190,00 (€ 8.244,41) und damit 64% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Spencer Finch auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit New York Boogie Woogie (Times Square, April 27, 2003, 10:07 Pm) im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 68.750,00 (€ 60.668,90).
