Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Online, which included the work Mistral (Avignon) by Spencer Finch. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,125.00 (€ 1,892.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Spencer Finch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work New York Boogie Woogie (Times Square, April 27, 2003, 10:07 Pm) in October 2018 with an auction result of USD 68,750.00 (€ 60,668.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mistral (Avignon) von Spencer Finch zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.125,00 (€ 1.892,59) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Spencer Finch erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit New York Boogie Woogie (Times Square, April 27, 2003, 10:07 Pm) im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 68.750,00 (€ 60.668,90).
