Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Penumbra by Shirazeh Houshiary was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2018. The price achieved of USD 68,750.00 (€ 58,911.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shirazeh Houshiary - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Door, which sold at auction in October 2012 for USD 158,500.00 (€ 122,318.26).

Die Arbeit Penumbra von Shirazeh Houshiary kam im Mai 2018 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 68.750,00 (€ 58.911,74) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Shirazeh Houshiary mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Door beobachtet, die im Oktober 2012 für USD 158.500,00 (€ 122.318,26) versteigert wurde.
