Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Shirazeh Houshiary could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in September 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Online auction, the work Mist, 1998 changed hands for USD 11,875.00 (€ 10,217.69) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Shirazeh Houshiary achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Door in October 2012 with an auction result of USD 158,500.00 (€ 122,318.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Shirazeh Houshiary konnte im September 2018 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Online wechselte die Arbeit Mist, 1998 für USD 11.875,00 (€ 10.217,69) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Shirazeh Houshiary erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Door im Oktober 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 158.500,00 (€ 122.318,26).
