Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Leaf Frame by Sarah Charlesworth. The price achieved of USD 10,080.00 (€ 9,393.35) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sarah Charlesworth - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Seated Buddha (from 0 + 1), which sold at auction in September 2021 for USD 25,200.00 (€ 21,767.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Leaf Frame von Sarah Charlesworth zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.080,00 (€ 9.393,35) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Sarah Charlesworth mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Seated Buddha (from 0 + 1) beobachtet, die im September 2021 für USD 25.200,00 (€ 21.767,30) versteigert wurde.
