Auction result misses estimated price range

In March 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work Cuirass by Richard Stankiewicz for USD 11,875.00 (€ 10,425.81). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Curated at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Stankiewicz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Playful Bathers in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 134,500.00 (€ 108,783.57).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Im März 2016 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Cuirass von Richard Stankiewicz für USD 11.875,00 (€ 10.425,81) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Curated bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Stankiewicz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Playful Bathers im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 134.500,00 (€ 108.783,57).
