Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Richard Stankiewicz was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,500.00 (€ 2,116.31). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Stankiewicz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Playful Bathers in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 134,500.00 (€ 108,783.57).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Richard Stankiewicz im September 2017 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.500,00 (€ 2.116,31) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Stankiewicz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Playful Bathers im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 134.500,00 (€ 108.783,57).
