This artwork by Richard Stankiewicz achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in July 2021. In the Contemporary Art Online | New York auction, the work Australia No. II sold for USD 52,920.00 (€ 44,605.53) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Richard Stankiewicz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Playful Bathers, which sold at auction in May 2012 for USD 134,500.00 (€ 108,783.57).

In der Auktion Contemporary Art Online | New York wurde die Arbeit Australia No. II für USD 52.920,00 (€ 44.605,53) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Richard Stankiewicz mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Playful Bathers beobachtet, die im Mai 2012 für USD 134.500,00 (€ 108.783,57) versteigert wurde.
