Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Zeppelin And Horses #2 by Philip Pearlstein was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 22,680.00 (€ 19,472.83). Admittedly, works by Philip Pearlstein have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Model With Empire State Building in November 2010 with an auction result of USD 170,500.00 (€ 130,791.65).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Zeppelin And Horses #2 von Philip Pearlstein im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 22.680,00 (€ 19.472,83) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Philip Pearlstein auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Model With Empire State Building im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 170.500,00 (€ 130.791,65).
