Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Female Model in Kimono on Dogon Chair, Male Model on Chiefs Blanket by Philip Pearlstein was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March last year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 50,400.00 (€ 45,434.06). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Philip Pearlstein - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Model With Empire State Building, which sold at auction in November 2010 for USD 170,500.00 (€ 130,791.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Female Model in Kimono on Dogon Chair, Male Model on Chiefs Blanket von Philip Pearlstein kam im März letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 50.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 50.400,00 (€ 45.434,06) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Philip Pearlstein mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Model With Empire State Building beobachtet, die im November 2010 für USD 170.500,00 (€ 130.791,65) versteigert wurde.
