Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Bonhams held the auction Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples, which included the work Sphinx by Philip Pearlstein. The price achieved of USD 1,275.00 (€ 1,196.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philip Pearlstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Model With Empire State Building in November 2010 with an auction result of USD 170,500.00 (€ 130,791.65).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sphinx von Philip Pearlstein zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.275,00 (€ 1.196,73) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Philip Pearlstein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Model With Empire State Building im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 170.500,00 (€ 130.791,65).
