Both signed, dated and titled in pencil and in ink on the reverse, The Nurse inscribed and dedicated 'dear David, you have been such a good friend to me...' in blue ink on the reverse, both unframed, The Nurse contained within the original envelope.

Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Nurse; and She is Leaving by Nicholas Africano was sold in the Editions & Works on Paper auction at Phillips in New York in October last year. It changed hands for a price of USD 945.00 (€ 951.28) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 700.00 – 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicholas Africano achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Woman with Fruit in July 2007 with an auction result of USD 27,600.00 (€ 20,129.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Nurse; and She is Leaving von Nicholas Africano wurde im Oktober letzten Jahres in der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 945,00 (€ 951,28) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 700,00 – 1.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nicholas Africano erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Woman with Fruit im Juli 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 27.600,00 (€ 20.129,82).
