Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Afternoon At The Mayfair (Afternoon) No. 23 by Nicholas Africano was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 625.00 (€ 581.88). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicholas Africano achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Woman with Fruit in July 2007 with an auction result of USD 27,600.00 (€ 20,129.82).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Afternoon At The Mayfair (Afternoon) No. 23 von Nicholas Africano im März 2015 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 625,00 (€ 581,88) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nicholas Africano erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Woman with Fruit im Juli 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 27.600,00 (€ 20.129,82).
