Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The trees looked like women by Nicholas Africano was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art Online auction at Bonhams in July this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,048.00 (€ 1,858.44) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicholas Africano achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Woman with Fruit in July 2007 with an auction result of USD 27,600.00 (€ 20,129.82).
