In February 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale, which included the work Construction In Space: Suspended by Naum Gabo. The result of GBP 90,000.00 (€ 115,323.89) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 90,000.00 – 120,000.00. Admittedly, works by Naum Gabo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Linear Construction in Space No. 2 in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 515,250.00 (€ 597,653.05).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Februar 2016 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Construction In Space: Suspended von Naum Gabo zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 90.000,00 (€ 115.323,89) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 90.000,00 – 120.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Naum Gabo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Linear Construction in Space No. 2 im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 515.250,00 (€ 597.653,05).
