Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Michael Joo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in February 2011. In the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction, the work Knot sold for GBP 20,000.00 (€ 23,558.33) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michael Joo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Improved Rack (Elk #11), which sold at auction in February 2008 for USD 143,000.00 (€ 94,159.48).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Michael Joo erzielte im Februar 2011 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction wurde die Arbeit Knot für GBP 20.000,00 (€ 23.558,33) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Michael Joo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Improved Rack (Elk #11) beobachtet, die im Februar 2008 für USD 143.000,00 (€ 94.159,48) versteigert wurde.
