Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work Sea State One by Matthew Ritchie for USD 625.00 (€ 560.29). This price was achieved in the auction Evening & Day Editions at Phillips in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Matthew Ritchie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Big Life oil and ink on canvas 88 x 154 in. (223.5 x 391.2 cm.) Executed in 2002. The Essential Diagrams 12 vinyl decals dimensions variable Executed in 2002. This work is number nine from an edition of twelve. in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 289,000.00 (€ 196,759.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2019 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Sea State One von Matthew Ritchie für USD 625,00 (€ 560,29) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Evening & Day Editions bei Phillips in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Matthew Ritchie erzielen.
