Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Matthew Ritchie could be acquired at Phillips in New York in October 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Evening & Day Editions auction, the work Sea State I-V changed hands for USD 1,000.00 (€ 896.46) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Matthew Ritchie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Big Life oil and ink on canvas 88 x 154 in. (223.5 x 391.2 cm.) Executed in 2002. The Essential Diagrams 12 vinyl decals dimensions variable Executed in 2002. This work is number nine from an edition of twelve. in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 289,000.00 (€ 196,759.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Matthew Ritchie konnte im Oktober 2019 bei Phillips in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Evening & Day Editions wechselte die Arbeit Sea State I-V für USD 1.000,00 (€ 896,46) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Matthew Ritchie erzielen.
