In April 2019 Phillips in London held the auction New Now, which included the work Where I'm Coming From by Matthew Ritchie. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,541.11), 39% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Matthew Ritchie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Big Life oil and ink on canvas 88 x 154 in. (223.5 x 391.2 cm.) Executed in 2002. The Essential Diagrams 12 vinyl decals dimensions variable Executed in 2002. This work is number nine from an edition of twelve. in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 289,000.00 (€ 196,759.26).

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Matthew Ritchie erzielen.
