Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Untitled (White Light Series) by Mary Corse. It changed hands for a price of USD 137,500.00 (€ 115,565.64) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mary Corse have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (White/Black Inner Band Beveled) in December 2020 with an auction result of HKD 5,000,000.00 (€ 527,391.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (White Light Series) von Mary Corse zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 137.500,00 (€ 115.565,64) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mary Corse auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (White/Black Inner Band Beveled) im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.000.000,00 (€ 527.391,66).
