Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Little Eric'S First Inkling by Martin Mull was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 11,875.00 (€ 9,143.06). Admittedly, works by Martin Mull have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hero'S Welcome in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 73,000.00 (€ 49,700.44).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Little Eric'S First Inkling von Martin Mull im Mai 2013 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 11.875,00 (€ 9.143,06) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Martin Mull auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hero'S Welcome im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 73.000,00 (€ 49.700,44).
