Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Greed by Martin Mull was sold in the Contemporary Curated featuring works from the Collection of Joni Gordon of Newspace Gallery auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,464.52) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martin Mull achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hero'S Welcome in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 73,000.00 (€ 49,700.44).
