This artwork by Mark Tansey achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May last year. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Iconoclast (Study for Triumph Over Mastery II) sold for USD 428,400.00 (€ 399,217.22) - well above the upper estimate of USD 200,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mark Tansey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Source Of The Loue in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 7,453,600.00 (€ 6,386,975.15).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mark Tansey erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Iconoclast (Study for Triumph Over Mastery II) für USD 428.400,00 (€ 399.217,22) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 200.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mark Tansey erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Source Of The Loue im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.453.600,00 (€ 6.386.975,15).
