Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Marisol Escobar could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in November 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction, the work Indian changed hands for USD 212,500.00 (€ 200,888.64) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 220,000.00 – 280,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Marisol Escobar - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Andy, which sold at auction in May 2012 for USD 794,500.00 (€ 642,591.39).
