In November 2021 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work MAGRITTE II by Marisol Escobar. The »bidding war« ended at USD 300,000.00 (€ 265,792.50), 67% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Marisol Escobar - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Andy, which sold at auction in May 2012 for USD 794,500.00 (€ 642,591.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen
Im November 2021 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit MAGRITTE II von Marisol Escobar zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 300.000,00 (€ 265.792,50) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Marisol Escobar mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Andy beobachtet, die im Mai 2012 für USD 794.500,00 (€ 642.591,39) versteigert wurde.
