In May 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Italian (Point To Point Life) by Makoto Saito. The »bidding war« ended at USD 40,625.00 (€ 31,278.87), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Makoto Saito achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Snow B.B. (No. 20130301) in October 2016 with an auction result of HKD 3,200,000.00 (€ 376,573.62).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2013 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Italian (Point To Point Life) von Makoto Saito zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 40.625,00 (€ 31.278,87) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Makoto Saito erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Snow B.B. (No. 20130301) im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.200.000,00 (€ 376.573,62).
