The auction ended at the price of USD 40,000.00 (€ 36,300.93), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kazuya Sakai - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Sky of Texas, which sold at auction in September last year for USD 107,100.00 (€ 109,475.62).

Die Arbeit Atmospheres Ii (Gyorgy Ligeti) von Kazuya Sakai wurde im November 2019 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 40.000,00 (€ 36.300,93) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Kazuya Sakai mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Sky of Texas beobachtet, die im September letzten Jahres für USD 107.100,00 (€ 109.475,62) versteigert wurde.
