Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Homage to Tōhaku (from the series Monoyama III) by Kazuya Sakai was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 25,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 25,200.00 (€ 21,814.40) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Kazuya Sakai have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Sky of Texas in September last year with an auction result of USD 107,100.00 (€ 109,475.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Homage to Tōhaku (from the series Monoyama III) von Kazuya Sakai kam im Oktober 2021 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 25.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 25.200,00 (€ 21.814,40) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kazuya Sakai auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Sky of Texas im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 107.100,00 (€ 109.475,62).
