In September 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Curated, which included the work Doves In A Cage by John Graham. The result of USD 40,000.00 (€ 36,680.42) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Graham achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Woman with Dodecahedron in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 1,609,000.00 (€ 1,095,452.07).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im September 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Curated durch, in der auch die Arbeit Doves In A Cage von John Graham zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 40.000,00 (€ 36.680,42) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Graham erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Woman with Dodecahedron im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.609.000,00 (€ 1.095.452,07).
