This artwork by James White achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2013. In the Contemporary Art auction, the work Afri-Cola sold for USD 23,750.00 (€ 17,547.10) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James White - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Double Glass, which sold at auction in May this year for USD 40,640.00 (€ 38,145.30).

Dieses Kunstwerk von James White erzielte im September 2013 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Afri-Cola für USD 23.750,00 (€ 17.547,10) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von James White mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Double Glass beobachtet, die im Mai diesen Jahres für USD 40.640,00 (€ 38.145,30) versteigert wurde.
