Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
The work Penguin Pool by James White was worth GBP 13,750.00 (€ 15,995.22) to a buyer in April 2019. This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art Online at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James White - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Double Glass, which sold at auction in May this year for USD 40,640.00 (€ 38,145.30).

Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art Online bei Sothebys in London erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von James White mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Double Glass beobachtet, die im Mai diesen Jahres für USD 40.640,00 (€ 38.145,30) versteigert wurde.
