Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2014 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included this untitled work by Jack Goldstein. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 305,000.00 (€ 245,216.27) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jack Goldstein - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in November 2012 for USD 782,500.00 (€ 601,460.42).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2014 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Jack Goldstein zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 305.000,00 (€ 245.216,27) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Jack Goldstein mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im November 2012 für USD 782.500,00 (€ 601.460,42) versteigert wurde.
