Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Curated featuring works from “In Its Own Light: Property from the Collection of Ed Cohen and Victoria Shaw”, which included this untitled work by Huma Bhabha. The price achieved of USD 10,625.00 (€ 9,931.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Huma Bhabha achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled in March 2019 with an auction result of USD 200,000.00 (€ 178,126.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Curated featuring works from “In Its Own Light: Property from the Collection of Ed Cohen and Victoria Shaw” durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Huma Bhabha zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 9.931,76) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Huma Bhabha erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 200.000,00 (€ 178.126,11).
